GHOST HUNTING CHECKLIST

PHASE 1: PREPARATION & LOGISTICS

[ ] Research the location thoroughly.
    - History
    - Previous hauntings
    - Notable events

[ ] Obtain written permission from the owner or property manager.

[ ] Check weather conditions.
    - Rain, wind, and extreme temperatures can affect equipment.

[ ] Notify a friend or family member of your whereabouts and estimated return time.

[ ] Ensure all team members have fully charged cell phones.

[ ] Check for safety hazards.
    - Trip hazards
    - Unstable structures
    - Wildlife


PHASE 2: ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT

[ ] EMF Meter
    - Detects electromagnetic fields that spirits may manipulate.

[ ] Digital Voice Recorder
    - Used for capturing Electronic Voice Phenomena, or EVP.

[ ] Spirit Box / White Noise Generator
    - Used for real-time communication.

[ ] Flashlight
    - High-lumen tactical light with fresh batteries.

[ ] Camera
    - DSLR or high-end point-and-shoot.
    - Bring memory cards and spare batteries.

[ ] Tripod
    - Used for steady photography and video.

[ ] Infrared Thermometer / Thermal Camera
    - Detects sudden temperature drops, also called cold spots.

[ ] Motion Sensors
    - Detect movement when you are not looking.

[ ] Notepad & Pen
    - Used for immediate logging of observations.

[ ] Gloves
    - Avoids leaving oils on objects or touching sensitive surfaces.

[ ] First Aid Kit
    - Basic injuries are common in old buildings.

[ ] Extra Batteries
    - Bring batteries for every device.


PHASE 3: EXECUTION PROTOCOL

[ ] Establish a base camp.

[ ] Designate a recorder, also called the lead or anchor.

[ ] Conduct a baseline reading.
    - Measure ambient temperature.
    - Measure EMF levels.
    - Measure noise levels in the area.

[ ] Walk the perimeter to scan for anomalies.

[ ] Set up cameras and recorders.
    - Corners
    - Near doors
    - Areas of historical significance

[ ] Ask open-ended questions during EVP sessions.
    - "Can you hear me?"
    - "Who is there?"

[ ] Wait for silence.
    - Do not speak over the recorder when expecting a response.

[ ] Check classic hot spots.
    - Corners
    - Stairwells
    - Under beds

[ ] Log all observations immediately after the session.

[ ] Review recordings and photos later with the team.
